What We Believe

Behind the Veil Worldwide Ministries is a Kingdom-centered, whole-Bible, Spirit-led Christian church and ministry centered on Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ). We believe the whole counsel of Scripture reveals the heart, character, and redemptive plan of God, and that the Holy Spirit remains active in the lives of believers today. Our desire is to pursue God in Spirit and in truth, growing in faith, obedience, holiness, love, spiritual maturity, and the freedom found in Yeshua.

We believe in the one true and living God, the Creator of heaven and earth, eternal, holy, sovereign, and worthy of all worship. God has revealed Himself as Father, through Yeshua the Messiah, and by His Holy Spirit. He is perfect in love, righteousness, justice, mercy, and truth.

We believe Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) is the Son of God, God revealed in the flesh, the Word made flesh, fully divine and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived without sin, died as the atoning sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the Father, and will return in glory to reign as King. Through His death and resurrection, He conquered sin and death, and salvation, reconciliation with God, and eternal life are found through Him alone.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine and eternally one with the Father and Yeshua. He is present and active in the lives of believers, dwelling within them at salvation and empowering them to live holy, Spirit-led lives. The Holy Spirit teaches, comforts, convicts, guides, transforms, and equips believers for the work of ministry. We believe ALL of His gifts and manifestations described in 1 Corinthians 12 remain active today and are to operate according to Scripture, in love, wisdom, and biblical order.

We believe the Holy Scriptures are inspired by God and are the authoritative foundation for faith, doctrine, correction, instruction, and godly living. We receive the whole counsel of Scripture, from Genesis through Revelation, as a unified testimony of God’s character, His redemptive plan, and His Kingdom. We believe the Old and New Testaments are to be understood together, with Yeshua the Messiah at the center of God’s redemptive work. Scripture is to be studied faithfully, interpreted responsibly, and lived out through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We believe God is faithful to His covenants and that His redemptive plan unfolds consistently throughout Scripture. We believe God’s instruction, including His teachings concerning holiness, righteousness, justice, love, Sabbath, biblical appointed times, and dietary instruction, reveals His character and provides wisdom for how His people are called to live. We understand these instructions through the life, teachings, death, resurrection, and completed work of Yeshua the Messiah, who fulfilled the requirements for our redemption and established the New Covenant through His blood.

We do not believe obedience earns salvation or makes one person more righteous or spiritually superior to another. Salvation is by God’s grace through faith in Yeshua. Rather, we understand biblical obedience as a response to faith and love for God. We therefore encourage believers to study the whole counsel of Scripture, follow the conviction and leading of the Holy Spirit, and walk faithfully before God without coercion, condemnation, or division over personal levels of understanding and practice.

We believe salvation is the gift of God, received by grace through faith in Yeshua the Messiah. Through His atoning death and resurrection, we are forgiven of sin, reconciled to God, made new, and given the hope of eternal life. Salvation cannot be earned through good works, religious observance, or human effort.

We believe genuine faith produces a transformed life. As believers grow in relationship with God, the Holy Spirit leads us in repentance, obedience, holiness, and good works as the fruit of salvation rather than the means of obtaining it. We obey God because we love Him, trusting that His ways are good and that His instruction leads us into greater spiritual maturity and freedom.

We believe God remains faithful to His covenant promises concerning Israel and that His purposes for Israel have not been abandoned or replaced. Through Yeshua the Messiah, people from every nation are welcomed into the family of God and share in the blessings of His redemptive promises through faith.

We believe Jewish and Non-Jewish believers are united through Messiah as one Body while retaining their distinct backgrounds and heritage. This unity does not erase Israel, nor does it establish one group as spiritually superior to another. We reject replacement theology, antisemitism, and any teaching that promotes hostility, division, or superiority between Jewish and Non-Jewish believers. Together, we are called to love God, walk faithfully before Him, and bear witness to Yeshua and His Kingdom.

We believe all who genuinely belong to Yeshua the Messiah through faith are part of one Body, with Yeshua as its Head. The Body is made up of believers from different nations, cultures, backgrounds, and expressions of biblical faith who are united by the Holy Spirit and called to love, serve, encourage, correct, strengthen, and bear one another’s burdens.

We believe every believer has a place, purpose, and responsibility within the Body. God gives different gifts, functions, and assignments for the strengthening of His people and the advancement of His Kingdom. No individual, title, ministry, congregation, or denomination represents the fullness of the Body by itself. We are called to pursue unity without compromising biblical truth and to work together so that the Body may grow in spiritual maturity, love, and obedience to Yeshua.

We believe Yeshua gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to His Body for the equipping of believers, the work of ministry, and the building up of the Body of Messiah. We believe all five ministry functions described in Ephesians 4:11–16 remain active and necessary today until the Body reaches the unity, maturity, and fullness described in Scripture.

We believe God calls and equips both men and women to serve according to the gifts, assignments, and ministry functions He has given them. Five-Fold ministry is not intended to elevate titles, personalities, or platforms, but to equip God’s people to mature in Messiah, discern truth, serve faithfully, develop their own God-given gifts, and participate in the work of His Kingdom. Those entrusted with ministry leadership are called to serve with humility, biblical integrity, accountability, and love.

We believe Yeshua came to heal the brokenhearted, set captives free, and restore people to wholeness. We believe God still heals, delivers, restores, and works miraculously today through the power of the Holy Spirit. We therefore pray for the sick, minister healing and deliverance, and walk alongside individuals seeking freedom from spiritual bondage, emotional wounds, destructive patterns, and the effects of trauma.

We believe healing and restoration may involve a process and should be approached with compassion, wisdom, biblical discernment, accountability, and care for the whole person. Biblical counseling, prayer, along with healing and deliverance ministry, may work alongside appropriate medical and mental health care when needed. We do not teach that seeking professional care demonstrates a lack of faith, nor do we promise a particular healing/deliverance outcome. Our desire is to point people toward Yeshua, support genuine freedom and restoration, and help individuals grow in spiritual and emotional wholeness.

We believe marriage is a sacred covenant established by God between one biological man and one biological woman, designed to reflect faithfulness, love, honor, mutual care, and covenant commitment. We believe husbands and wives are called to love, serve, honor, and remain faithful to one another while building homes centered on God and His Word.

We believe healthy families are strengthened through prayer, discipleship, forgiveness, accountability, communication, and the intentional practice of biblical love. We value children as gifts from God and believe parents and caregivers have a responsibility to nurture, protect, teach, and model godly living before them.

We do not believe biblical submission, forgiveness, reconciliation, or covenant should ever be used to excuse abuse, manipulation, coercion, neglect, or violence. The safety and well-being of individuals and families matter, and situations involving abuse or danger should be addressed with wisdom, appropriate intervention, and necessary professional or legal support.

We believe God calls His people to lives of holiness, integrity, righteousness, and obedience that reflect His character in both public and private life. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, believers are continually being transformed, learning to turn away from sin, renew their minds, develop godly character, and live in ways that honor God.

We believe holiness is not about outward religious performance, perfectionism, or earning God’s love. It is the fruit of a life surrendered to Him. When believers stumble or sin, we are called to respond to conviction with humility, confession, and genuine repentance, receiving God’s forgiveness and allowing Him to continue His transforming work within us.

We believe spiritual maturity should be evident through the fruit produced in a believer’s life. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control should increasingly characterize those who walk with the Holy Spirit. Our gifts, titles, knowledge, or ministry accomplishments never replace the importance of godly character and spiritual fruit.

We believe spiritual warfare is real and that believers are called to remain spiritually alert, prayerful, discerning, and firmly rooted in the truth of Scripture. Through Yeshua the Messiah, believers have been given authority to resist the enemy, stand against spiritual opposition, and walk in the freedom and victory He has provided.

We believe spiritual authority must always operate under the authority of Yeshua and in agreement with Scripture. It is not a means of controlling people, exalting spiritual leaders, creating fear, or assigning demonic causes to every hardship, illness, conflict, or struggle. Believers are called to exercise discernment, recognizing the reality of spiritual opposition while also taking responsibility for personal choices, pursuing wisdom, and addressing practical, relational, emotional, or physical needs when appropriate.

We believe our confidence in spiritual warfare rests in the finished work and authority of Yeshua. Therefore, we approach prayer, intercession, deliverance, and spiritual warfare with faith rather than fear, wisdom rather than sensationalism, and humility rather than spiritual pride, remembering that our ultimate focus is Yeshua and the advancement of His Kingdom.

We believe Yeshua the Messiah will return personally, visibly, and in glory to establish His righteous rule and bring God’s redemptive plan to its appointed fulfillment. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and eternal life with God for those who belong to Yeshua.

We believe Scripture calls believers to live with watchfulness, faithfulness, holiness, and hope as we await His return. Rather than allowing speculation about prophetic timelines to distract or divide the Body, we are called to remain spiritually prepared, proclaim the Good News, make disciples, serve faithfully, and advance the work of God’s Kingdom while there is still work to be done.

We believe the return of Yeshua is the hope of His people and the assurance that sin, death, injustice, and the works of darkness will not have the final word. Yeshua will reign, God’s purpose will be fulfilled, and all creation will ultimately bear witness to His righteous authority and Kingdom.

We believe God’s Kingdom is present and at work among His people today and will be revealed in its fullness when Yeshua reigns as King. Our hope rests in God’s promise to restore all things, defeat sin and death, bring perfect justice and righteousness, and dwell with His people forever.

We believe this hope should shape the way we live now. As citizens of God’s Kingdom, we are called to represent the character and ways of our King through love, truth, holiness, justice, mercy, service, and faithful obedience. We are called to bring hope to the broken, care for those in need, proclaim freedom to the captive, make disciples, and faithfully steward whatever God has placed in our hands.

We therefore live with expectation rather than fear, purpose rather than complacency, and hope rather than despair. Until Yeshua returns and God’s Kingdom is revealed in its fullness, we will continue to pray, serve, disciple, equip, heal, build, and go wherever He sends us, trusting that everything surrendered to Him can be used for His Kingdom and His glory.

We believe every believer belongs to God and is ultimately covered, led, and accountable to Him. At Behind the Veil, we do not view spiritual leaders as the “covering” of another person, nor do we believe accountability gives leaders ownership or control over someone’s life.

We practice willing biblical accountability and believe the Lord may entrust people to our care for a season or for many years. We take that responsibility seriously. This means welcoming godly counsel, correction, encouragement, and honest conversations within the community God has placed around us. Leaders are accountable too.

We believe healthy spiritual community should help people mature in discernment and obedience to the Holy Spirit rather than becoming dependent upon a leader for permission, direction, or access to God.

We willingly submit to biblical accountability, counsel, correction, and community, while recognizing that God is our covering. No leader owns another believer’s calling, decisions, or relationship with God.

We believe biblical love includes compassion, honesty, correction, forgiveness, repentance, boundaries, expectations, and restoration. Love does not avoid difficult conversations; it approaches them with truth, humility, wisdom, and a genuine desire to see one another grow.

Leaders are called to serve, equip, protect, teach, and model Christlike character. Leadership is responsibility, not status, and leaders remain accountable themselves.

When conflict or sin arises, we seek biblical resolution, fairness, confidentiality where appropriate, and restoration rather than humiliation, gossip, shunning, or public punishment.

We can worship and grow together while differing on secondary matters. Unity does not require everyone to have the same background, traditions, personality, or journey.

We want people to mature, discover their purpose, serve as the Holy Spirit leads, and eventually go wherever God sends them. Leaving BTV to fulfill God’s calling should be met with prayer and blessing, not guilt or rejection.
